my friends and family often laugh when i refer to our dog in public. i rarely use the term "dog," and almost always use the term "puppy." and then when strangers ask me how old my "puppy" is, i get the funniest looks when i tell them she's 5 years old, going on 6. but that's just it. sevilla has always been a puppy to me. and probably always will. partly because she's never learned a lot of behaviors that most dogs learn (thanks to the fact that during her first year of life she was raised by a senior in college who was more interested in dressing her up with her roommates than potty training her - yay fun times!) and partly because, well, she was the baby for so so long.
matt and i also worried terribly about how she would handle life with georgia. we were so afraid she would turn in to crazy puppy and devise an evil plan against the baby. i mean this dog sleeps in the middle of us every night with her head resting on a pillow. embarrassing how spoiled she is. i know. but it has been the exactly opposite. she loves georgia more than we could have hoped. often time when georgia cries in the middle of the night, sevilla is the first one at her bassinet. looking over the side and resting her head on the edge. as if trying to offer comfort to her little sis. it really is the sweetest thing.
so sweet little sevilla - happy 6th birthday baby girl! we love you so much and i can't wait for georgia to grow up loving you too. get excited for party hats tonight!

Happy birthday sevilla!!! I'm obsessed with my dogs too so no judging here about her sleeping between you guys with a pillow under her head :P I'm glad she's being a great big sister :)
So cute!! That is really sweet that she loves Georgia so much. My "puppy" is still kind of a puppy and we are pretty sure he thinks Henry is his baby.

Awww what sweet puppy pictures! I hope she had a great birthday! And I totally know what you mean about calling her a puppy - I still do that often with my baby girl: a 50-lb., five-years-old-going-on-six, Lab mix!
