cubs game - chicago!

rocking my glasses because... well no luggage = no contacts

One of the main events on our Chicago schedule was a cubs game.  Pretty sure it has been a dream of Matt's to check out Wrigley Field, so despite the not-so-great weather forecast, off to field we went!  We took the red line train which was fun and allowed us to see some more of the city, then headed into the park to watch batting practice (yay!) and score Nisey a hat.  The first 4-5 innings were so enjoyable (weather-wise) and our nice neighbors beside us bought us some Chicago Dogs for the whole experience (side note: there were multiple people who bought us things on this trip.  Complete strangers just wanting us to enjoy our first trip to Chicago.  Seriously - the nicest people ever live up there!).  Around inning 5 things got cold... real cold.  And truthfully we didn't have all of our warm layers because we were still waiting on our luggage (it got lost - how fun!).  But we stuck it out as long as we could and enjoyed some yummy hot chocolate.  And bonus - the Cubs won! After that we headed back to the hotel for some lazy time, gym time and shopping time (me!).  Then off to dinner!  Our next trip up to Chicago will definitely be in the summer so we can see the ivy on the fence at Wrigley Field :)

best breakfast ever!

As I mentioned last week, Matt and I took a little babymoon up to Chicago a few weeks ago!  Chicago has always been a place on our bucket list and a place that neither of us had been to... until now!  We absolutely loved it.  We are already planning our next trip back.  One of our favorite spots was a breakfast place we found right off of Michigan Ave - Wild Berry. It was cute, quaint and absolutely delicious!  I got a decaf White Chocolate Raspberry Latte and I still have dreams about it.  Along with my buckwheat and strawberry pancakes... and my feta and spinach omelet.  I ate a lot!  Anyway, if you're up that way you must eat here!  You won't be disappointed..

i had the best day... with you... today

sorry for the radio silence around lately.  matt and i took a babymoon to chicago two weeks ago (pics to come!) and then couldn't wait to get back to our little lady.  sadly, our little lady got super sick last week and ended up fighting off croup and a double ear infection.  and passing some version of her yuckies to mommy and daddy.  but hey!  we are better!  and thankful it is behind us.  above are some pictures from yesterday.  g and i had a little beach date to get some much needed vitamin d and salty air.  i love her a lot ya know?

Easter Happenings 2015

Tuesday, April 7, 2015

I hope you had a blessed Easter!  We enjoyed an Easter egg hunt and lots of family time.  So thankful for that and mostly for our Savior who endured so much so that we could be free.

PS - is it really already Tuesday?  I feel like I skipped Monday.

pregnancy face blunders

Wednesday, April 1, 2015

This pregnancy has thrown my face for a loop.  Georgia didn't cause a lot of hormonal breakouts and crazy face time, but baby boy?!  It's in full swing.  I have had to switch up my regime a bit (partly because you can't use salicylic acid during pregnancy) but also my face has just needed a more gentle routine lately.  So below is what I have found that actually works!  All is safe for pregnancy (and after pregnancy and for life because the ingredients are GOOD!  not scary!).  Hope this helps!

I cleanse morning and night with this gentle cleanser.  This is not a change from pre-pregnancy.  This has been my go to cleanser for awhile now.  It's gentle but so effective.

I still love my Enlightening Treatment Pads and I was using them morning and night.  Since pregnancy I have switched to using them just in the morning.  They're great because they help exfoliate a bit (which helps makeup go on smooth) while also working on evening out my skin tone.  At night I have switched to good 'ole Apple Cider Vinegar.  I mix equal parts ACV and water in a jar and use a cotton ball all over my face after I cleanse.  The smell goes away when the toner dries and it has really calmed my face down.  I will stick with this after baby for sure!

I've always been a fan of Tea Tree to treat my acne and I still use it pregnant.  But I also got a snazzy little bottle of this Belli Spot Treatment and love it too!  I use it if I notice a big under the skin something coming up and tea tree if its just maintenance.

Nourish - Oil
I used the oil before pregnancy too and it is the only one that doesn't cause me to breakout!  It has chamomile which calms my skin and allows me to wake-up with a dewy complexion instead of a red one.  Good stuff.

Deep Clean - Face Mask
I use this mask 2-3 times a week.  I love the ingredients and it helps to keep my breakouts at bay.  It helps exfoliate as well!
