G turns one month!

I can't believe the Boss Lady is one month old.  Well she's actually 5 weeks old so this post is a little late, but last Friday was her one month birthday!  We celebrated by cooking a yummy dinner at home and having some wine (me, not her).  So here is a little bit about my little lady at one month.

**This post was inspired by Britt's month-by-month posts of her little Scarlett.  So thanks B!**

Weight: Miss Georgia Grace was born at 8 lbs. 4 oz.  She dropped to about 8 and then has continued to gain ever since.  Last Thursday she was an even 10 lbs so I’m guessing she’s about 10 lbs3-4 ounces by now!  Feeling so blessed this little chunker hasn’t had trouble gained weight..

Health: A healthy baby thankfully!  She has had some tummy issues and then of course that stupid reflux.  But we have started some medicine that seems to be helping.

Sleep: Hmmmm the first two weeks are a blur.  I can’t remember if she slept at all.  Did I sleep any?  No clue.  But the third week came and we started to get steady 3 hour stretches which was fabulous.  Then at week four she seems to be getting into her groove a bit.  We have started a little pattern of going to sleep at 9 and waking up at 3:30!  6.5 hours?!?  I’ll take it.  Now, keep in mind I still get up once during that time to pump but hey I’m not complaining.   Then she usually goes back down from 4-7.

Social: G is a snoozer when it comes to social gatherings thus far.  Partially because mom and dad schedule it that way but partially because she just gets worn out!  It’s tough being a one month old love muffin!  She has had some play dates with her baby besties though and she is pumped for some more this week and next!

Diet: Breast Milk woop woop.  I have been breastfeeding and it has been, errr, a challenge?  I’ve had to supplement a few times during week 3 when homegirl just couldn’t get enough.  But I’ve been disciplined about getting my supply up and I’m happy to say we haven’t had to supplement anymore.  I pump like a crazy person too so sometimes G gets confused going from breast to bottle, but hey, we’re getting better and better.

Clothes: She’s still in her newborn but there are a few that are getting a little tight!  I’m thinking I’m gonna get to break out her 3 months clothes verrrrry soon!  She can wear the little dresses that are 0-3 already.  They are a little big but she likes maxi dresses J

Baby Gear Love: My Ergo baby carrier has been amaze.  I love it.  Aden and Anais Swaddle blankets yes please.  We use them for everything – blankets, burp clothes, a shield to block the sun.

Crying: She was a crier those first few weeks.  She has a little fussybutt period every evening if she gets over tired but mommy and daddy and working on preventing that from happening.  Now that we figured out the little lady has re-flux we’ve been able to make her a much a happier baby!

Likes: She loves to be held over your shoulder, taken on walks and getting her hair brushed.

Dislikes: She’s NOT a fan of tummy time.  Kinda hates it actually.  So we've been doing tummy time lying on mommy or daddy and that seems to make it more manageable for the little one.

Postpartum:  Coming home from the hospital I was more swollen than I had been my entire pregnancy!  Luckily that lasted only a week and I am able to wear my old clothes again.  It’s like having a brand new wardrobe!  Only it’s old and super familiar.  But I just love it.  I haven’t taken off my favorite jean shorts in about 3 weeks!

Milestones: Definitely figuring out this re-flux thing to make G a happier baby.  And her long sleep stints have been amaze too.  Oh and she smiles now.  I mean the cuteness is hard to handle.  Everything she does makes me squeal.  I send Matt a video and 1,000,000 pictures a day of the boss lady.  Every day is a milestone I guess.  I’m just soaking it in.

YAY GEORGIA!! She's getting prettier every week. Good job sticking with breastfeeding. I struggled with it as well and there were definitely times I thought it would just be SO EASY to just do formula. But I am really glad I stuck it out and HOORAY for you doing it too. :) Awesome job!!

Yay!! One month old! Congrats! Our girl is only 12lbs at 5mo! We have a skinny one. Also, Emmerson hated tummy time too. one thing we tried was laying her at the edge of the bed with her head hanging off and i sat on the floor and talked to her while my husband held her in place. Honestly I don't know that it helped any, but one day she just started liking it! Have a great weekend!
