my 2 year old!

A week ago the baby that made me a mommy turn TWO!  I don't know where time goes, honestly.  There was no big shindig this year but I made SURE my little lady felt special.  She had one request this year - a Big Bird cake.  Considering she didn't even have a sugar cake last year I felt it only necessary to get her very own 8 inch Big Bird cake.  She didn't leave much for the rest of us (likely we had cupcakes too!).  We celebrated at home on Thursday night (the birthday night) and then headed to my parents' house Saturday for more spoiling and more celebrating.  Sunday night my in-laws stopped by for even more birthday surprises.  Spoiled rotten and loved unconditionally... I'd say it was a good birthday!

Baby Turbeville's Shower

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of co-hosting a baby shower for one of my closest friends in Wilmington and her baby girl.  I met Cara about a year and half ago when we joined a couple's small group and it was as if we'd know each other forever.  I wrote more about that here.  Yesterday, Cara gave birth to her sweet baby girl, Ruby Emerson.  I could not be happier for my sweet friend and look forward to many, many memories made with this family.  Love you Cara!

Birthday Wishlist

After seeing Sarah's birthday wishlist last week, it got me thinking about my birthday wishlist.  That's right - the big 2-7 is just around the corner.  Monday's the big day and here's a wishlist to kick off the celebration.  Happy Wednesday!

4 nephews that is!  I'm getting another sweet nephew in late February!  YAY!  And you know how I found out?  My sweet sister-in-law hosted the most adorable Gender Reveal Party.  And the inside of the cake was blue :)
