6 things you may not know about me

Wednesday, July 31, 2013

So today I am participating in a fun game where I answer 6 out of 12 questions (I got a little carried away and answered 7!).  I was tagged by Nicole, so below I will tag 6 more bloggers and encourage them to join in the fun :)  Here's Nicole's post if you'd like to read along!

Now for my answers...

1.What is one of your silly quirks? Or something silly that you get excited about.
Hmmmm…. I have a lot but ones that comes to mind is that I have to have all the doors locked whenever I ride in any car.  As soon as I get in, I lock it up.  Paranoid?  Maybe.  OCD?  Possibly.

2. Favorite movie, song, or TV show?

I love all Kenny Chesney music.  All.  My favorite CD of his is Be as You Are, but they are all fantastic.  Matt and I regularly blast Kenny in our kitchen while cooking.  A favorite song from this amazing man?  "French Kissing Life."  Listen above.

and shorts a top at 36 weeks
3. What's your favorite or go-to outfit?
I’m definitely a dress girl in the summer at night time.  But I also love jean shorts and a cute top.  Above are some preggy examples of both that I rocked this summer.

4. What's a current dream that you are hoping to achieve?
I want to be a mom.  By the time this post goes live, I hope I am.  And if not, I hope I’m close.  My due date was Monday :)

5. Who or what inspires you?
My mama.  She’s strong but sensitive and has the hardest work ethic of anyone I know.  She's the best.

6. Share one of your favorite pics. Tell us why it's your favorite
I love this picture (despite the blurriness) because it describes Matt and I perfectly.  We make each other laugh daily and our silliness (and goofiness) is something I hope Georgia comes to love.  Matt has taught me to never take myself too seriously and I look forward to him showing our baby girl the same thing.

7. What's your favorite part about marriage? Or what have you learned since becoming married?
Oh there are so many favorite parts.  So hard to choose.  But if I must I will say it’s just doing life together.  The every day stuff.  The cooking dinner and the waking up sleepy.  It makes all of that so much better.  I’m so blessed to call this man my husband, and thinking about how our everyday life is going to change with the arrival of our baby girl.  Well, it makes me all teary eyed.

Some stuff about moi

Friday, March 1, 2013

I found this questionnaire from Ashley, who I think found it from someone else.  And I kinda like it.  So here ya go friends – a little stuff about moi for your Friday viewing.

if you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
This is so tough.  Matt and I have a bucket list of places we’d like to go, but Greece is up there along with southern Italy.  Oh and Thailand.  Is that too many?

what makes you happy?
My husband.  Feeling my 19 week old babe move in my belly.  Breakfast in bed, especially Matt’s cinnamon toast.  Kisses from my pup.  Chats with my mama.  Red wine.  Salt water.  Dancing in my kitchen.  Chocolate milk.  One-on-one talks with good friends.  Traveling.

what inspires you?
Love – it’s what inspires me and it’s what drives me.  Color – it inspires my home and my style.  The Ocean – it inspires my hair-style (or lack-of) and hopefully my disposition.

what is your dream job?
I wish I knew.  I’m still trying to figure that out.  But I think I’d love to work part-time teaching English to Spanish-speaking families and then be a stay-at-home mom the rest of the time.

describe yourself in five words.
Compassionate.  Messy.  Worry-wart.  Thoughtful.  And blessed.  So blessed.

what do you look forward to most in life?
Saturday mornings with my husband.  I like Sunday afternoons too, but they take a different shape during football season.

what's the first thing you do every day?
Press the snooze.  Twice.

what would you do with a million dollars?
Start college funds for my unborn kids, travel with my love, buy my dad a new corvette, buy lots of “happies” for my loved ones and buy a boat.  A big one.

do you believe in love at first sight?
Yes.  It happened with Matt and me.  I didn’t know it was love for a few years.  But I knew it was something.  Something worth waiting for… and boy was I was right.

who is your biggest role model & why?
My mama.  Her selfless nature, her strong will and her kind heart.  I pray I’m half the mama she is.

describe your perfect date.
Walking and talking.  Anytime.  Anywhere.  I love getting lost in conversation with my hubs, only stopping for kisses, ice cream or wine.

Did you do one of these too?  Are you going to?  Leave your link in the comments, I'd love to read it!

If you really knew me...

Wednesday, July 25, 2012

me. circa 1987.

Saw this post from Jenni and then Megan so I’m going to follow suit.  Here goes!

If you really knew me...

You would know that Ruffles Potato Chips dipped in Ranch and chocolate chip cookies are the best snack ever.

You would know that my parent’s veterinarian specifically told me NOT to get a Yorkiepoo because of their unpredictable temperament and the next week I went out and got me my Yorkiepoo.

You would know that my Yorkiepoo is a psycho pup and brings so much joy to our lives.

If you really knew me you’d know I’m a terrible singer but ALWAYS sing happy birthday to my best friends on their birthdays – sometimes in a funky accent.

You would know that I’m named after my Grandmother and my Aunt.

If you really knew me you’d know I love a tall glass of chocolate milk or a warm glass of vanilla soy milk every night depending on the season.

You’d know I’m a terrible cook, but try to pretend I know what I’m doing.

If you really knew me you’d know I hate washing my hair.  Like really despise it.  Because then I have to dry it to make it look decent and not frizzy and ugh, that just takes too long.  So I’m a big supporter of the dry shampoo.

You’d know I love spaghetti, red wine and dark chocolate.

If you really knew me you’d know I have a terrible sense of direction and almost always get lost.
You’d know when I get flustered or frustrated I get short, often with the ones I love (something to work on).

If you really knew me you’d know I’d do anything for my friends and family and I get super defensive when it comes to them.

You’d know I struggle with fear.  Read more on that here.

You’d know I also struggle with forgiveness and letting go of the past.  I hold grudges and sometimes let the past consume me.  That’s when God shakes me upside down and says “Wake up Child, it has been forgiven.”

If you really knew me you’d know I’m a control freak like no other.  Working on that one too.

If you really knew me, you’d know I have an obsessive compulsive order when it comes to buying clothes.  You’d know I have a few items in my closet with tags on them that are over a few years old (embarrassing).

If you really knew me you’d know that my favorite movies are Grease, Father of the Bride and any Reese Witherspoon movie.

You’d know I wish I knew more about politics and feel completely uneducated when election year comes around.

You’d know that I’m sensitive and often worry too much about what others think.  The tone of anyone’s voice can send me into tears despite the words that came out of their mouth.

Last, if you really knew me you’d know I love hard and I love deep, with no reservations and no hesitations.  And you'd know that I fell in love with my husband years ago, and continue to fall in love all over again when he smiles.

OK, I just bared my heart and soul to you – what would I know if I really knew YOU??
